Everyone on the plane is hacking up a storm. Never seen anything like it, I bet 1/3rd of the passengers have covid or flu. Meanwhile I’m barely symptomatic, so don’t judge.

i cant believe how many people are sick right now. especially people with kids. My wife and I are FINALLY starting to feel better after a nasty cold that evolved into a sinus infection and a terrible deep cough that will probably take two months to totally disappear. Miserable house for the holidays.

Some one plz post the AI model.

Graphcast has the ridge hugging the coast and everything being pinched to the east.

For what it is work, Graphcast is based on ERA5 data and so each new run is effectively saying "lets throw the initilaization dataset into the hopper, tuned down the resolution, and let the analog matching begin". We'd need to see what features are being modeled and what is being dropped at lower resolutions.

Someone can say otherwise, but my eyeballs are going to an Aleutian low that might be under or over powered based on how you're looking at it.

I've worked retail for 26 years.  It has gotten way earlier.  But guess what, as soon as it's out, people are buying it.   That's why it keeps getting put out.  We sell through 80% of our holiday stuff long before the holidays.

I had COVID the end of February 2022, it was rough, but I never had much of a cough. May 2022 I got whatever strain of influenza was going around and my cough lasted over 2 months. I was in hell.

Would be great to hear Mr. Nelsen’s thoughts on this. I know he won’t dive in until it’s closer but would still like a new blog post about the trends or something.

He mentioned on Facebook that “something is up” but that’s about it.

Hey my wife and I got the exact same thing a few days before christmas.  It slowly travelled deeper into the chest.  My nose cleared but the cough lingered for a long time (still have it). Was one of the worse ones I've had in a while.

Wasn't covid.

Our 3 year old son recovered the quickest.

I had a non-sexual urge to cohabitate with my 71 year old mother in law and also experience a TOP TIER BLAST near the gorge.

Me:

When they say 'It's Coming' on The Weather Forums, what does that mean?
ChatGPT:

The phrase "It's Coming" on weather forums is not a standard meteorological term, and its meaning may depend on the context within the specific forum or community where it's used. In general, weather forums are platforms where weather enthusiasts, meteorologists, and the general public discuss various weather-related topics.

If someone says "It's Coming" in a weather forum, they could be referring to an upcoming weather event, such as a storm, precipitation, or any significant weather change. It might be a way of expressing anticipation or excitement about a particular weather occurrence.

To better understand the meaning in a specific context, you should look for additional information in the discussion thread or ask for clarification from the person who made the statement. Weather forums often use informal language and expressions, so the meaning may vary based on the community's conventions.

CFS is relatively on board. Also cools things off the beginning of February, though nothing crazy.

We all know there are probably like 5-10 lurkers right now who have been reading the thread but have never posted. During the 2019 event, I checked this site religiously  every day before joining like 2 years later. Before the event starts, I challenge you to create an account and say hello! No professional met experience required, but of course those are always appreciated. So if you live in WA, OR, ID, MT, or even northern CA join us...and share your snow totals later.

Sadly didn't get to experience 2019 here, but discovered the forum from @KSeattleWeather and lurked in 2021 and kept lurking for a year until finally joining. Haven't gotten to experience the buildup and model-riding to a potential widespread snow event as an actual member here, so this has been a fun ride so far. Still so many days out, but feeling each day creep closer and hoping the runs verify.

My wife and I are just getting over that exact same thing.  My cough lasted 6 weeks and her sinus infection is still going a bit.  Never got terribly miserable but it was bad enough that you didn't want to go anywhere or do anything.  49 here after a low of 41, partly cloudy
