One of our own #wawx members is recovering from a pretty bad bout of Covid. He's been in the community for a decade plus now, I've talked with him on Twitter since I joined the platform.
If any of you guys have an acct over there, go and wish him a speedy further recovery.
Hey all, I'm officially new to this forum but I've lurked around here every once in a few days since December 2021 to follow on the snow forecasts, and ever since I just generally lurked to follow the weather while learning things bit by bit.
I withheld on making an account because I don't have anything to contribute, I believe, and I wasn't sure how a newbie or an outsider would be treated. I have a very vague sense on how to read GFS or ECMWF maps but have no idea how to use them to pred
Mets are trying to prepare people for a Saturday night at home if they’ll listen. Large hail, high wind and a possible tornado. (I hate nighttime tornados).
Currently 77*. Humidity at 79%.
Wind officially 17mph but I’ve been out there. It’s a good deal higher and gustier.
A line of strong storms are currently from Snyder, Texas to Lawton, Okla moving SSE. The cap has remained in place this afternoon but we’re expecting that to change overnight. With strong evening storms.
Hoping for no night tornados.
Looks like this system might bust your local drought once and for all… it’s nice to see the stubborn patterns of the last 2-3 years starting to breakdown a bit.
I'm rooting for a huge ridge to be sitting over alaska for most of our Denali climb, May 12th(weather permitting)-the end of the month/start of June. When I did my first Denali expedition back in the early 90s, we got horrible weather for almost the entire 3 week expedition, at one point temperatures were -39F with 80+MPH winds and heavy snow, and we never got a good day of weather to summit Denali, which is why I'm going back with the hope of being successful this time.
I do NOT want to experience horrible weather like that again.
There's some big supercells in SE Kansas moving right toward me and its very thick outside with a temp of 76. Really hope I just get the rain but I think it's going to come with some wind and hail.
