NWS forecast is utter perfection.  They are going for mid 70s to lower 80s every day through Sunday.  Apparently they think the GFS forecast of 82 or higher until the end of eternity isn't going to happen.

I will admit I think tomorrow could be warmer than they are forecasting though.  Maybe mid 80s for SEA.

Would like to enjoy a few weeks of summer... otherwise the entire year would be basically the same here.

Looks pretty decent for us... and I don't think it will get too hot next week.   Models will water it down.

I see you dropped to 49.6°F this AM. :o If that were possible here in mid-July I might feel the same.

It’s this time of year where weather conditions are so far-removed from winter that my mind questions how it could ever snow here. I likely won’t experience sub-70°F temperatures again until late August or September.

I'm having trouble getting upset about this like some people are.  As you say there is time for those last few days to get toned down.

That would drive me insane.  The cool nights here are one of the great things about our summers.

Right... my views are based on the weather here and not in DC or Dallas.  😀

Side note... that temp was in the valley where there is some fog this morning.   The station near our house only dropped to 55 and its totally sunny this morning and heading for probably 80 degrees.   Summer perfection!

Dropped down to 43º here this morning...termination dust is just 5-6 weeks away.🥰

I remember how strange (and orgasmic) it felt to me while I was there a few summers ago. When the sun fell below the horizon the temperature instantly started dropping off. Like a switch flipped. Reminded me of late October here.

Even in Leavenworth when it was 99°F during the afternoon, temps plummeted into the 50s at night. By 11pm it was already in the 60s. Have never experienced a summer season diurnal range like that in my life. Totally new experience.

Out here the evenings and overnights feel just as bad if not worse than the daytime hours. Often hovers around 80°F until 3AM, then by 8AM it’s already back in the 80s (and feels worse). Diurnal range generally shrinks until mid/late August. Which is when I start craving variability.

Which is why you need a weather station. You’re a disgrace to weather weenies across the planet.

Could be worse. Denver can be in the 90s one day and have snow one day later, which generates hurricane force offshore winds for the PNW, sends thick smoke half way across the ocean, and brings orange skies to San Francisco.

Diurnal range can get crazy in my area once you get out of the urban core of Spokane/Spokane Valley.  One of the more extreme diurnal ranges i've actually experienced was in the Santa Cruz Mtns of CA.  Just inland of the coast in some of the Redwood canyons up near Boulder Creek/Big Basin Park.  we had some days in the 85/38 range in October when offshore flow is pumping or 95/43, one time 106/52 ish.  some real crazy micro climates up in there.

Dropped to 48.9F this morning. I almost always pick up a couple sub 50 lows during July so it was nice to see one this year with the clear skies overnight.

You're awesome Tim! Thank you!!

I just noticed that they are identical... the GFS must not distinguish any difference between SEA and BFI.     Lower resolution than the ECMWF.

Got down to 55 here this morning. We’re getting closer to the drop off for daylight…have lost about 30 minutes over the last month and will lose about another 30 minutes by august 1st. Always interesting to see how the rate the sun angles decrease really picks up in late July one month after the solstice.

Didn't the Gresham area also do well the next winter? I did okay but not that great, with 5.5" that winter. Same with 2018/19 when I had about 4". At least my area in the West Metro hasn't done as bad as places like Beaverton/Tigard. Those areas seem to be screwed a lot.

Yeah we did well on the east side. Got about 2" snow on Christmas Eve for a White Christmas. Then on 2-18 got like 3", then 5" on 2-20. The last one on 2-22 was better in other locations, only got 1" with that one. It was another good winter except for January was a dud.

Will Salem and PDX set their all time July record highs this month? IBRChris thinks so.

Pretty cool hike up to Lake Serene the other day with the misty drizzly weather.  The view was taken away but still cool looking.  Felt like I was in the Amazon forest hiking…..crazy hardcore trail!
I may attempt Comet Falls today on Rainer.

Cloudy and 58*

Pavement was wet earlier but nothing measurable

Only had half of that in the West Metro sadly. Beaverton/Tigard had even less I think. Surprisingly according to the NWS public information statements Beaverton was one of the snowiest places with the big storm in December 2008 (16"), which I wouldn't have guessed.

We had no snow in December 2017, though it was a pretty chilly month overall. We had almost no snow that winter until February. We were blessed that February and March.
