November 2022 PNW weather Discussion. #NoRidgeNovember

After missing out yesterday, I was not prepared for this. Currently dumping snow, some of the largest flakes I’ve ever seen. Temp sitting at 37 according to my phone, but it’s already covering roads. Accumulations from the last 30-60 minutes, I’d say.

Stayed at a cabin in Packwood one winter but we were about a 1000' from seeing any goods as the NWS really screwed up the freezing level.  I am thinking if you live there right now you are in for a treat tonight and overnight.

The might well be the feature that the ECMWF shows will rotate right into Seattle around 2 a.m.

I would say a vast majority of the premier cold/snowy Novembers in Spokane were followed by pretty snowy and/or cold DJFs there. 2010-11, 2000-01, 1996-97, 1985-86, 1978-79, 1973-74, 1955-56 to name some.

Drier air appears to be filtering in up here... snow is very light compared to the pictures I am seeing on here.

Most of the stuff north of I90 was shown to happen by 6 p.m.

Made it up to 39 today but luckily most of the snow stuck around. Gonna be interesting driving to work tomorrow with all the snow melt freezing tonight.

Last December we got stuck on the tarmac for 8 hours for a Sea to Orlando flight. Multiple de-icing passes and we got sent back to the gate and canceled after EIGHT HOURS just sitting on the tarmac. Lol.

So I have some PTSD about this.

That’s almost as much as the euro showed lol. Everything is starting to turn white just a trace so far. It took awhile for it to cool down and get consistently heavy but it’s really dumping and accumulating quickly now.

Coming down hard now in Auburn. Finally sticking to cars. Doorbell camera at home on the East Hill/Lea Hill shows that grass and rooftops are covered

That escalated quickly. Coming down pretty good and sticking to everything but pavement.

Dropping fast over here, winds switched to NNW.  34.8....dropped 5 degrees last hour to hour and a half.

18Z ECMWF... 24 hour snow total starting at 7 p.m. tonight through 7 p.m. tomorrow.   Looks like the snow will go well past 7 in the South Sound area.
