We ll cool down once the low moves inland. Our best chance for snow is as things wrap up. We ll probably get some good periods of sleet in there. Models indicate we could still get 2-3 sub freezing highs. Maybe some upper teens? Our coldest day last year was a 28/12 in February, doubt we best that, but still a great event and to be expected in a backdoor situation like this. The coldest day in December 1968 at Silver Falls was 30/14. The coldest air is going to be at the bottom of the valley!

I think it looks similar to the past 2 runs. 

Hard to tell exactly without those WxBell sleet maps and those cross section charts. 

FWIW the kuchera ratio from the Euro shows worse than 10:1 ratios, I find that hard to believe given the very low temps and very modest warm layer on the euro.

I posted this earlier, but it's worth repeating.  It's a graphic from NWS Spokane.  Of course when they talk about snow they mean their forecast area. But it goes to show how the ensemble mean often doesn't tell the story.

Since the Portland radar is down, I'm using the Langley radar so the echoes may not be that strong but it looks like it's snowing 🌨

I'm just showing the difference between Clear Air Mode compared to High Resolution. Snow is actually really hard for the radar to pick up on High Resolution because of the cross section of a snowflake. I have noticed the band getting closer to the Portland area 🌨

Someone posted something about it could be snowing in the Portland area around 1am. I think you could be right. Look how close those snow showers are coming to Portland it probably very light snow showers 🌨

I thought tonight the temp would be dropping down to around zero since it was 10.3 degrees at 7pm but it is now 10.2 degrees 4 hours later.  Some passing clouds and an increased wind has done me in,
