I love it. Have em plant a million seedlings one by one. Should keep em pre-occupied for a while or longer

Getting close here today as well after virtually no smoke the last 3 days.

We’re in about the perfect drainage spot for the Nakia fire. After a nice inversiony night, it’s settled into the valley like concrete.

September 2020 was still the worst smoke I have ever been in, you could not be outside for more than a few minutes during the height of it. 31916A59-9B72-44B8-883C-191A8F14383F.jpeg

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

It's so weird because I'm pretty sure this is the same 961mb low that the GFS was showing at one point yesterday then completely backed off away from it. Now the Euro is showing it.

Amazing... live view from Friday Harbor on top and Bellingham on the bottom.       Unbelievable difference across a short distance.

Nasty.  I love that view from the top of the hill in Friday Harbor.  Great place to sip a drink and have some grub while watching the marina.

Can we get this storm track with cold air entrenched in 2 months please and thanks!

Just have that bad boy make landfall a little south of Cape Blanco with an ENE track. Massive and expansive deformation shield to the north.

Ah, the price of having an ocean nearby.

And large mountain ranges to our east, blocking the Arctic airmasses from penetrating into the region.

What would our climate be like if the Rockies and associated ranges did not exist, but the Cascades/Coast Mtns did?

2022-23 Winter:

11/29: .25" + 1" = 1.25" | 11/30: .25"

12/2: .2" + .5" = .7" | 12/3: .2" | 12/4: trace

12/18: .4" | 12/19: .2" + .8" = 1.0" | 12/20: .2 + 1.5" = 1.7

1/31: trace | 2/14: trace | 2/22: .2 | 2/26: 1.0"

Total: 6.7"

Backdoor airmasses would be Cross-Cascade gradients often.

Kind of crazy how much the switch flipped this year from the spring to the summer. The last 120 days (6/20-10/18) at SEA have been the driest on record for that period with only 0.54" of precipitation. The previous 120 days (2/21-6/20) were the second wettest on record for that period with 17.11".

It's now been 122 days since SEA recorded more than 0.15" of rain in a day which is by far the longest streak on record. In the previous 120 days before that, SEA tied a record with 36 days with more than 0.15" of rain in a day.

No one, because it's obviously gonna trend north.

RIGHT Tim?

Maybe. I dunno what Tim has to do with it? 🤥

I will say that I've noticed over the past many years of tracking wind storms that there are usually three distinct model trends within 96 hours. South, north, and then locked in to the south, or north, south, north.
