This is my mentality too. Cold dumping into the lower-48 somewhere is a better sign than a complete lack of cold anywhere in North America. Like some of those screaming +EPO winters where every state is painted red.

I looked at the Canadian and it's pretty active. I'm always amazed at how cold 850s can get in the Midwest over a broad area. We just suck.

Low enough to snow on Siskiyou Pass! 4k is actually a very good snow level for this time of year, especially that far south. Hopefully we will see our first WWA as well for the OR Cascades.
