Jbolin
Just now, Chewbacca Defense said: Ah....I was not aware of that. You ever find anything about how fast they got? Growing up in Georgia, the local news crew did a special feature when the ANG unit in Atlanta became the first ANG unit to get the F15. The reporter went for a ride and they had a camera pointed out the back for a high performance take off. You saw the ground moving past as they released the brakes and rolled down the runway, then everything tilted a bit as they rotated, then the next thing you know the camera is looking straight down at the runway numbers which get really small really quick. I had it saved on VHS but the tape eventually died. I do recall that just north of Tacoma, one of the F-15's reported a ground speed to (ATAC/SCEN) of 1066mph.

NWbyNW
SMOKE FORECAST: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times... Edition Let us take a moment to look at how bad things have gotten. These are the worst AQI's I've ever seen for our region. Some 400s, 500s.... its downright hazardous out there to an insane degree. We are seeing hazardous air all throughout NW Washington and now creeping into the Puget Sound. Fog has had a major impact of trapping smoke at low levels but teasing us with it's wet dampness. But changes are coming, and late tonight, Washington and the Lower Mainland of BC can start seeing some minor improvement, but the bigger changes come tomorrow, and then even more the next day. The bottom two images show you those changes. As a front makes it's way inland, onshore winds will start to carry the smoke away. Models below show ground level smoke.
