Ah....I was not aware of that.  You ever find anything about how fast they got?

Growing up in Georgia, the local news crew did a special feature when the ANG unit in Atlanta became the first ANG unit to get the F15.  The reporter went for a ride and they had a camera pointed out the back for a high performance take off.  You saw the ground moving past as they released the brakes and rolled down the runway, then everything tilted a bit as they rotated, then the next thing you know the camera is looking straight down at the runway numbers which get really small really quick.  I had it saved on VHS but the tape eventually died.

I do recall that just north of Tacoma, one of the F-15's reported a ground speed to (ATAC/SCEN) of 1066mph.

Live view from North Bend... no low clouds or fog.    This is all smoke.    Unbelievably gross.

And posting this now so I can post a comparison pic tomorrow afternoon.  Its going to be dramatically better. 👍

We had like twice as much snow last April as we have had in all the November's combine that I've lived here... Not expecting much this next month, but who knows. We are probably due.

It’s been 25+ years since I’ve seen more than a dusting fall in November.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Got my gutters cleaned out with leaf blower….made it quick and easy.  Now I need to go check my rain bucket to make sure it’s clear of derbies. Also need to check my pump under the house and wake it from its summer slumber.
Lots O fog this morning once again….thick I might add!

Visibility is down to less than a quarter mile now. Most of the neighbor's houses have disappeared.

Not a bad forecast back on Sept 1st if I say so myself!☺️

I just had a brief moment of panic (before I saw the date on the quotation) that a rug pull was underway.

Practically, it’s quite rare for there to be a complete rug pull at this stage, with as much converging model agreement as there currently is. But I’ve been hating the smoke and drought so much that it’s hard to be completely rational about things.

Ha! I'm also having a hard time believing 12"+ of snowfall this weekend since I haven't seen a single flake this fall and temps will be into the 70's tomorrow but here we are. Models not backing down even the slightest.

Sorry for the scare!

SMOKE FORECAST: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times... Edition

Let us take a moment to look at how bad things have gotten.  These are the worst AQI's I've ever seen for our region.  Some 400s, 500s.... its downright hazardous out there to an insane degree.  We are seeing hazardous air all throughout NW Washington and now creeping into the Puget Sound. Fog has had a major impact of trapping smoke at low levels but teasing us with it's wet dampness. But changes are coming, and late tonight, Washington and the Lower Mainland of BC can start seeing some minor improvement, but the bigger changes come tomorrow, and then even more the next day. The bottom two images show you those changes.

As a front makes it's way inland, onshore winds will start to carry the smoke away.  Models below show ground level smoke.

Some sort of massive car wreck or pileup earlier today between Coburg and Brownsville on I-5 southbound. Smoke and fog combined to make for the worst visibility here since Sept 2020.
